Tacoma Arts and Festivals – Part II – Native American Festival


This second part of my latest blog post will feature snippets from the In the Spirit Festival, a celebration of Pacific Northwest Native Tribes that took place this weekend at the Washington State History Museum – Tacoma. Along with native arts and crafts for sale, the outdoor amphitheater crowd was treated to a series of dances and songs performed by several native tribe members dressed in their traditional regalia. Some of the tribe members came from as far way as the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. The crowd was also treated to traditional performances by a native Maori family that came all the way from New Zealand. What a treat! Needless to say, I took lot of photos!
